I usually HATE going on trips, especially long drive trips to places that I don't know anything about. I mean, I know what is offered in San Francisco, I just don't know how to get anywhere and I DO NOT like that. I also am not a very big fan of packing all of the kids and washing out dirty bottles in a hotel bathroom sink and blah, blah, blah. Well, my loving husband, and his family decided to stay in a hotel that offers suits (sp?) to stay in. Including two different rooms, a full kitchen with kitchen table and a desk. This place was great to stay at. Carly slept in a pack and play and Connor slept in the fold out couch bed. In a separate room than us! He slept ok the first night, but fell out of bed the second and ended up in our bed. :o/ Oh well. Oh and Carly woke up extremely early the whole time. I don't know why though? Maybe strange surroundings.
We did a lot of fun things on this trip:
Connor and I went on a Submarine (the one in the film 'Down Periscope' with Kelsy Grammer). It was neat. And long. And very, very compact. I couldn't live on it, that's for sure.
We went to the Aquarium. Connor LOVED it. He even touched a shark!
We drove down Lombard St. Which Connor titled a 'Roller Coaster.' Which is funny because he has never been on one, so how does he know?
And lastly, we drove down the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge. Just for fun. It was SOOOO long!
We also went to the Exploratorium, which is a really neat, hands-on museum with a lot of physics projects/ displays. I can't find any pictures of it. :o( We must not have taken the camera in.
All in all, we had a great time and it was a fun, first long trip as a family of four.
(Don't believe Connor's face, he is not a fan of pictures right now)
**CONNORISMS**
~ In the car the other day, Connor yells at me from the back seat, that there is something in his shirt. He is frantic about this, and almost has me worried enough to pull over. So I ask him right away what it is, and he tells me it is his...belly button. Then he cracked up. Who teaches him this stuff?
~ He likes to sing the ABC's and at the end of the song, where you sing "next time won't you sing with me" ...he always adds and Mommy, and Daddy, and (insert another family member's name here). Well he ran out of names and said "and someone else." Doesn't exacatly sound hilarious now, but at the time it was pretty funny that he didn't want to think of anyone elses name.
